It is Thursday which means it is almost Friday which means it is almost the weekend! I have a very nice selection of tunes for you this week so without further adieu, I present to you:

This first little musical diddy is a song I heard this morning… It was posted by friend and musician Jeff Haddad as he couldn’t believe how good it was either. These boys are VERY good. This is The Speed of Sound In Seawater- Apples to Apples, Dust to Dust.

Next up is a band that is unfortunately no longer a band but their music is some of the best in the progressive rock genre I have ever heard. This is PMtoday with Thoughts in transit. And as a special treat, another song from their second album called Sad World.

Although I gave you these two tracks, do yourself a favor and pick up both of their albums!

This band came blasting through my pandora the other day and I have to say the song has me hooked. I’ve listened to it twenty times today already. This is AWHOLNATION- Not Your Fault.

Next we have a nice sounding group known as Other Lives and I think we can expect much more from these guys in the near future. The song is called Tamer Animals.

And finally we have a band that just recently came out with a new album. They are called This Town Needs Guns. The album is called 13.0.0.0.0 and it is immaculate. The song I chose to share with you of theirs is called Havoc At The Forum and I decided to give you guys the live version because they are that good!

A little morning music!

Good Morning Folks,

Thought I would extend to you a few songity songs to lighten up your Wednesday morning. I know I said last week I would be posting solely Hardcore songs this week, however, I simply can’t. I am in one of those funky moods where you just need some nice relaxing sounds. Whenever I’m angry next I will have some ear splitting stuff but for now this will have to curb your musical appetites. (Make sure you get to the bottom of this list for 2 BONUS songs! Whaaaaaaat???!!!!)

First up is a fun jam by P-Money and it’s called Everything.

Next we have a song by Chad Valley called Shell Suite. The song was featured on the soundtrack for the zombedy flick Warm Bodies.

This next group is unfortunately this next group is no longer together but they made some great stuff before the break. This is The Title and the song is Untitled. Ironic I know.

Four is a song by a band that I have really grown to love melding rock and electronic together this is Shiny Toy Guns with the song You Are The One.

To top off the list we have a relatively new band called The Cinema with the song The Wolf. Their debut album just came out called My Blood Is Full Of Airplanes so check it out you underprivileged hoodlums!

And that my friends is your 5 for this week HOWEVER, because you have all been so supportive here are to more tracks to get you through the day. One is beautiful, the other a remix on a classic, Enjoy!

5 More Nifty Tunes…

As promised, here are five more songs for your listening pleasure.  I posted the actual video instead of a link this time so that you don’t need to load another page.  If you prefer the links or just don’t care let me know.  The selections this week are from: Brand New, Silversun Pickups, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, A Skylit Drive, and In This Moment.

One Bad February by Colly C

Hey Guys,

Check out the latest music video from Colly C!  Directed by Armen Varadian the video depicts a relationship in turmoil that has no compromise in sight.

Owlbiter- Trampoline

Good afternoon folks, just got the new music video from my friend Matt Cascella.  The independent project was started by Matt who does the vocals and composition.  His project is called Owlbiter (for reasons unknown) and the song is called Trampoline.  I had the privelage to work on this video with Matt and I will say the man is out of his mind… in a good way. Colly C

 

Colly C has been featured on the site once before with a remix he did of Jay-Z and Kanye’s- Niggas in Paris (Colly so pleasantly entitled his Crackas in Boston).  Since I love that song so much I’m gonna post it again.

 

Colly C recently performed White Boy Dancin’ Live on the Steve Katsos Show where it was broadcast to millions of viewers.  Colly C has been writing his own lyrics since he was twelve in the back of the classroom.  Colly is a long time friend of mine and through the years I have heard this boy freestyle to the point where tears came to my eyes.  No joke… Colly takes the form of an angel with a backwards Celtics fitted when he spits.  Colly C’s lyrics are honest and universal, they come straight from life and the everyday struggle.  His passion for his craft and music is uncommon and inspirational to all.  His EP Recession Rich is out now and his songs can be found on Itunes as well as on his website:
